Encouragement for Ministry Wives!

Are you a wife of a pastor or church planter or someone in full/part time ministry?

If so then this post is for you!

We have been involved in a church plant for the past three years and we know all about the work and sacrifice that goes into ministry. We know about the highs and lows and everything in between!

I also know that along with all of that comes many blessings. Blessings we can't even fathom that impact for eternity and all the while many of the seeds we have sown may not even be seen in our lifetime.

But there can also be times of discouragement. Times when you might need a good sound word from a seasoned experienced woman who has been there and done that and speaks honestly and helpfully about the road you are on.

Right now I am currently reading through the book, Partners in Ministry: Help and Encouragement for Ministry Wives by Christine Hoover:

Here is a quick description from the author:

"Partners in Ministry: Help and Encouragement for Ministry Wives is a compilation of essays about the joys and challenges of being the wife of a man in vocational ministry, written to offer practical help, biblical encouragement, and a reminder of God's faithfulness.

Ministry. There's nothing else quite like it. That's why I love getting face-to-face and knee-to-knee with other ministry wives and peppering them with questions. How do you do this? How do you handle that?

That's also why I frequently write about being a ministry wife: I know I'm not the only one with more questions than answers. Certainly, I'm not the only one struggling to get it right.

Ministry is simply not something to go at alone. We need other women beside us who are working through the complexities and joys of ministry, we need to learn from their successes and mistakes, and we need the encouragement from others who understand what it's like to be in ministry.

Although ministry is not something to go at alone, many ministry wives feel alone and isolated by their role. They desire to be faithful, but they also crave soul-nourishment and encouragement.

I am just such a ministry wife, and perhaps you are as well. Let me walk with you. Let's do this together.

I have written about my own experiences in ministry on my blog for years. I've compiled those blog posts into this ebook, Partners in Ministry: Help and Encouragement for Ministry Wives. Written for women serving in any variety of ministries (in established churches, in church plants, on the mission field, in ministry organizations) and in a variety of roles, the book is meant both as a resource and an encouragement. So you know that in what you're feeling and what you're experiencing you're not alone.

The ebook is divided into six parts, each part packed with essays that both speak to the heart and offer practical help for ministry:

Lessons Learned in Ministry
The Ministry Wife's Role
Helps for the Ministry Wife
When You're Hurting, Tired, or Discouraged
Friendship and Ministry
Specifically for Sundays"

Here are also a couple of extra highlighted topics she covers that I thought would be of interest to you:

Mistakes in Ministry: Performing
Mistakes in Ministry: Comparison & Competition
Mistakes in Ministry: Self Isolation
25 Lessons about Rest & Renewal
Influence: You've Got It
Essentials for Leaders
The Ministry Wife's Most Important Ministry
I Thought Ministry Would Be Glamourous
Lies Ministry Wives Believe
Hurts in Ministry
When You Need to Receive
Mean Girls, Pastor Wives Edition
Criticism in Ministry

and much more!

I am about half way through this book and it has been a good encouraging read so I thought I would mention it here in case someone would like to read it and be strengthened by her uplifting words. I know that many pastors wives read this blog and it is not easy to come by material where the author completely understands your role. Christine is the same author that I mentioned not too long ago who also wrote this book that I shared about earlier last year.

I want you to know we are praying for all of you who sacrifice and give daily in so many ways. Do know that your work for the Kingdom in not in vain and that He sees it all.

Everything.

Be encouraged, dear friend, and imagine that I am giving you a virtual hug through this screen!

Now if you are interested, you can find Partners in Ministry for just $2.99 HERE.

I hope it is a blessing to you!
